Staff Grade Psychologist (Adult mental health)

Are you a Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist looking to enhance and further develop your skills in the area of adult mental health?

Medforce recruitment are recruiting Staff grade Psychologists to join Adult mental health teams located in Dublin city and in Dublin north.

We have vacancies in Dublin 8, Clontarf, Finglas and Blanchardstown.

The Senior and Staff grade Psychologist’s on the team provide psychological assessment and intervention along with consultation to the multidisciplinary team. 

The Psychology team are also developing multidisciplinary reflective practice groups, research and service development. The team meets regularly with one Principal Specialist, thirteen Senior Psychologists and nine staff grade Psychologists.

The appointed Psychologist will work alongside the Senior Psychologist and multidisciplinary team to provide psychological assessment and intervention to service users attending the team.

Group work currently being led by the Psychology team are Schema groups, EMDR therapy, compassion focussed therapy skills groups and staff multi-disciplinary reflective practice groups.

Contract: Fulltime, specified purpose contracts for 1 year, 35 hours per week, Monday- Friday.

Essential

  • A recognised university degree or diploma with first- or second-class honors in which Psychology was taken as major subject and honors obtained in that subject, and
  • A post-graduate professional qualification in psychology, recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
  • Applicants with qualifications obtained outside of Ireland must provide a certificate of validation of their qualifications from the Department of Health.
  • Must have gained experience of engaging with clients in direct therapeutic work individually, in group settings and indirectly through consultation with other professionals or liaising with family members as appropriate.
  • Applicants must have experience in the area of Adult Psychology in particular adults under age 65 years with co-morbid mental health and intellectual disability.
  • Must have gained experience of working with a range of severity of psychological presentations from mild problems requiring early intervention (e.g. adjustment issues and mild depression and anxiety) to more severe and enduring mental health issues such as Psychosis and eating disorders.
