The Staff Grade Psychologist will provide psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation services as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team in South Dublin. The role involves delivering evidence-based psychological support to children, adolescents, and adults presenting with mild to moderate psychological difficulties.
Key Responsibilities of Staff Grade Psychologist
- Conduct psychological assessments, including cognitive, emotional, and behavioral evaluations.
- Deliver short-term, evidence-based psychological interventions to clients.
- Provide group-based interventions where appropriate.
- Offer consultation and psychoeducation to clients, families, and caregivers.
- Collaborate with GPs, social workers, occupational therapists, and other primary care professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Contribute to the development of primary care psychology services.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and attend relevant training.
- Supervise and provide support to assistant psychologists or trainees as required.
- Participate in audit, research, and service evaluation to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the Health and Social Care Professionals Council (CORU).
- Contribute to service reports and data collection for service evaluation.
- Support administrative processes related to referrals and waiting lists.
Requirements of Staff Grade Psychologist
- A recognised university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject.
- A recognised post-graduate professional qualification in clinical, counselling or educational psychology or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health. We would welcome applications from 2023 doctorial graduates.
- Applicants who qualified outside the Republic of Ireland must already have their qualifications validated by the Department of Health and Children and the Psychological Society of Ireland.
- Ideally possess a full clean drivers license.
