Role Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Staff Grade and Senior Speech and Language Therapists to join our client’s team, focusing on the assessment and management of acute dysphagia in an inpatient hospital setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to exceptional patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute dysphagia across various hospital departments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on dysphagia management and prevention strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
- Mentor and support junior staff and students (Senior SLT role).
Requirements:
For Staff Grade:
- A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in dysphagia management.
For Senior Grade:
- A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Significant clinical experience in acute dysphagia management.
- Proven ability to mentor and support staff and students.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
