Job Title: Staff and Senior Occupational Therapist – CAMHS
Medforce Recruitment is seeking passionate Staff Grade and Senior Occupational Therapists to join a dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Mullingar. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with mental health challenges, helping them build resilience and achieve their personal goals.
As part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions that promote emotional well-being, social engagement, and daily functioning in children and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Grade:
- Conduct detailed assessments to identify occupational needs of children and adolescents with mental health difficulties.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans targeting daily functioning, sensory processing, and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists.
- Provide education and strategies to families and caregivers to support progress.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service evaluations.
Senior Grade (Additional Responsibilities):
- Manage a complex caseload with autonomy and provide advanced clinical interventions.
- Offer clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.
- Lead and contribute to service development projects and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide specialist advice to the team regarding complex cases.
Requirements:
Essential for Both Grades:
- A BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with CORU.
- Demonstrated experience in paediatrics, mental health, or CAMHS settings.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical reasoning skills.
- A family-centered, compassionate approach to care.
Additional for Senior Grade:
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in mental health or CAMHS.
- Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and support service development.
- Experience providing supervision to junior staff is desirable.
