Medforce are happy to be looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties, as part of an interdisciplinary team within the Primary Care setting in Kildare.
Responsibilities of Speech and Language Therapist
- Deliver timely and comprehensive paediatric speech and language therapy services in line with HSE Primary Care strategy.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualised treatment plans for children with a range of developmental speech and language needs.
- Provide therapy across home, clinic, preschool, and school settings as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical records and documentation in accordance with HSE standards.
- Participate in service planning, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to therapy assistants and students (if applicable).
- Attend team meetings, case conferences, and interdisciplinary planning sessions.
- Engage in CPD activities to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and protocols including safeguarding and data protection.
Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist
- A recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification approved by CORU.
- Current registration with the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Clinical experience in paediatric caseloads either during training or post-qualification.
- Understanding of child development, speech and language disorders, and therapeutic approaches (e.g. Hanen, Lámh, PECS, etc.).
