Speech and Language Therapist (Acute)
Medforce are delighted to have partnered with a leading healthcare provider in the heart of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. Our client is committed to delivering excellent patient care through a multidisciplinary approach and is looking for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to further enhance their services. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of communication and swallowing disorders in adults and/or children, depending on the area of expertise.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and community services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and dietitians to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff and speech and language therapy students, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Participate in service development initiatives, audits, and research projects to improve the quality and efficiency of services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:
- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Current registration with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a clinical setting
- Experience in managing a diverse caseload, including complex communication and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Previous experience in supervising and mentoring junior therapists or students.
- A postgraduate qualification or specialisation in a relevant area (e.g., dysphagia, paediatrics, neurology).
