Speech And Language Therapist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Staff Grade or Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Primary Care Team serving the Blackrock and Shankill areas of South Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred care to adults within the community. The successful candidate will work with adults presenting with a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes while promoting independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Develop and implement evidence-based, person-centred intervention plans.
- Provide assessment and management of dysphagia where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Social Workers, Public Health Nurses and General Practitioners.
- Deliver therapy in clinic, home and community settings as required.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support and supervise junior colleagues and students where appropriate (Senior Grade).
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration (or eligibility for registration).
- Previous experience working with adult caseloads in a community or primary care setting.
- Experience in the assessment and management of dysphagia is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
- A full clean driving licence and access to a car is desirable.
