Speech And Language Therapist
We are currently recruiting a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Longford.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team providing services to children and young people with a wide range of developmental, communication, and complex needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children and families to achieve meaningful communication, feeding, and participation goals within a family-centred model of care.
The Role
As part of the CDNT, you will:
- Conduct assessments and provide intervention for children with speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans based on each child’s needs and goals
- Support children with:
- Speech sound disorders
- Language delays and disorders
- Social communication difficulties
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Feeding, eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties
- Work closely with families, schools, and community services to support children in their everyday environments
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, and service development initiatives
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- CORU registration (or eligibility for registration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with children and young people
- Previous experience in paediatric, disability, or community-based services
- Experience supporting children with complex communication needs, ASD, developmental delays, or dysphagia
- Full driver’s licence and access to a car
