Speech and Language Therapist
Medforce Recruitment is seeking both Staff Grade and Senior Speech and Language Therapists to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Co. Tipperary. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality services to children and young people with complex needs.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will provide Speech and Language Therapy assessment, intervention, and family-centred support to children and young people aged 0–18 years with disabilities, in line with the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model.
You will work as part of a dynamic MDT including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Therapy Assistants.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapists:
- Deliver comprehensive assessments and evidence-based interventions for children with a range of communication needs.
- Participate in MDT meetings, family service planning, and goal setting.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and community services to support meaningful participation for each child.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Contribute to service development initiatives within the CDNT.
- Senior applicants will additionally be expected to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff and therapy assistants.
Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapists:
Staff Grade
- BSc/MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration or in process.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- Experience working with paediatrics desirable but not essential.
Senior Grade
- A minimum of three years post-graduate experience, with at least two years working in paediatrics or disability services.
- CORU registration.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex assessments and intervention plans.
- Experience supervising junior staff or students is an advantage.
