Speech and Language Therapist
The Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) will work as part of a multidisciplinary Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) to provide comprehensive assessment and intervention services to children and young people (0-18 years) with complex needs arising from disabilities. The SLT will contribute to family-centred practice, supporting the child’s functional communication, feeding, and overall development. This is a role based in Trim, Co Meath and I would discuss with a Staff or Senior grade
Responsibilities of Speech and Language Therapist
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with speech, language, and communication needs, as well as feeding and swallowing difficulties.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, which may include Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and other Health and Educational professionals.
- Deliver services in family-centred models, using evidence-informed and best practices.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans, involving parents/carers and relevant community supports.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and service planning.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential reports and clinical records.
- Provide education, support, and training to parents, carers, and other professionals as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Contribute to service development initiatives, audits, and quality improvement projects.
Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (or eligible for same).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full drivers’ licence and access to transport (for community-based work).
