Speech and Language Therapist
Medforce Recruitment, in partnership with the HSE, is seeking a Staff Grade or Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join the Adult Rehabilitation Team at the Community Hospital of the Assumption (CHOA) in Co. Tipperary.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary rehabilitation service, providing evidence-based assessment and therapy to adults recovering from acute illness, neurological events, or complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults with communication and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders.
- Work as part of a rehabilitation-focused multidisciplinary team that includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, dietitians, and medical staff.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment and care plans to support communication and safe swallowing.
- Contribute to care planning meetings, discharge planning, and goal-setting in collaboration with the wider team.
- Provide training and education to patients, families, and staff on communication and swallowing management.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (or in process).
- Experience working with adult rehabilitation and dysphagia caseloads preferred.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to person-centred, goal-oriented rehabilitation.
- Full driving licence and access to own transport desirable.
