Speech and Language Therapist
Medforce Recruitment, in partnership with the HSE, is inviting applications from Senior or Experienced Staff Grade Paediatric Speech & Language Therapists to join the Community Healthcare Network teams in East Limerick and Ballina.
This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Speech & Language Therapists to work as part of dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidates will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention services to children and their families within the community setting.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Therapist:
- Deliver speech, language, and communication assessments and interventions for children with a variety of developmental needs.
- Collaborate effectively with other professionals within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop and implement integrated care plans.
- Work closely with families, caregivers, and educators to support children’s communication in daily life and learning environments.
- Participate in early intervention and school-aged services within the CHN framework.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical documentation and contribute to service reporting and evaluation.
- Provide supervision and support to students and junior colleagues (for senior-grade applicants).
- Engage in ongoing professional development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).
- CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
- Experience working with paediatric caseloads in clinical, educational, or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development, speech and language delay/disorder, and evidence-based intervention approaches.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Access to own transport and full driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working within Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) or Primary Care/CHN services.
- Familiarity with approaches such as Hanen, PECS, Lámh, or DIR/Floortime.
- Experience supervising students or assistants.
