Speech and Language Therapist
Medforce are currently seeking a Speech & Language Therapist to join a dedicated rehabilitation team working with adults in an acute setting in Limerick. About the Role:
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing speech, language, and swallowing assessments and interventions for adult patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders in a rehabilitation setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients to regain independence and improve functional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Assess and manage communication and swallowing disorders in adult patients
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on patient goals
- Collaborate with the wider MDT including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing, and medical teams
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in accordance with clinical and legal standards
- Participate in case conferences and service development initiatives
Essential Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Degree in Clinical Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent)
- CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist
- Dysphagia qualification (Essential)
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
- Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Desirable:
- Experience working in a rehabilitation, hospital, or adult healthcare setting
- Familiarity with AAC and cognitive-communication disorders
