Job Summary:
My client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services to children, young people, and families in need of care and protection. This role involves assessing needs, creating care plans, providing support, and ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals in line with statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Case Management:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children, young people, and families to determine their needs and risks.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage a caseload, ensuring timely and effective interventions are provided.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection:
- Identify and respond to child protection concerns in accordance with Tusla’s policies and procedures.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk.
- Participate in and contribute to child protection conferences, court proceedings, and case reviews.
- Family Support:
- Provide direct support and interventions to families to enhance their capacity to care for their children.
- Facilitate access to support services such as counseling, parenting programs, and community resources.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts within families to promote stability and positive outcomes for children.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential records of all interactions and decisions.
- Prepare reports, assessments, and court documents as required.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards in all documentation.
- Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Participate in regular supervision and continuous professional development activities.
- Collaborate with other social work professionals, health care providers, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Engage in reflective practice to continuously improve the quality of service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- A recognized qualification in Social Work (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work).
- Registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council) as a Social Worker.
- Experience:
- Experience working with children and families in a social work setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of child protection systems, relevant legislation, and Tusla’s policies and procedures.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, assessment, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex and sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
