Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention
The HSE is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment & Intervention Team in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The role involves working with children and families to assess needs, provide support, and implement intervention strategies that promote child welfare and well-being.
Key Responsibilities of Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the service.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to address identified needs.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and community organisations.
- Provide crisis intervention and short-term support as required.
- Advocate for service users and assist in accessing appropriate resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and reports in line with HSE policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional supervision.
- Ensure adherence to Child Protection and Safeguarding guidelines in all assessments and interventions.
Essential Requirements of Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention
- Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree/Master’s in Social Work or equivalent).
- CORU registration as a Social Worker (
- Experience working in children and family services.
- Strong knowledge of Irish child protection legislation, family law, and relevant policies.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement intervention plans effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
