Social Care Worker
Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is currently recruiting a Social Care Worker to join a residential disability service in Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism to live fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives within their community.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering person-centred supports that promote independence, dignity, choice, and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Care Worker:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to service users
- Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and maximising independence
- Assist with daily living activities, community integration, and social participation
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues
- Support the implementation of individual care plans and person-centred plans
- Promote the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of all service users
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies
- Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development
Requirements for the Social Care Worker:
- Relevant Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or a related discipline
- CORU registration or eligibility to register where applicable
- Experience working within disability services, residential care, or community services is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism
- Knowledge of person-centred planning and positive behaviour support
- Understanding of safeguarding and HIQA standards
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
