Social Care Worker

Job Purpose

The Social Care Worker will support individuals with diverse needs to live independently and reach their full potential. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes wellbeing, dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.

This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver care and support based on individualised care plans and therapeutic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day personal and social care to Service Users in line with their individual care plans.

Promote and encourage Service Users’ independence and social inclusion.

Facilitate participation in education, training, work, and leisure activities that enhance personal development.

Support emotional and behavioural wellbeing through positive engagement and active listening.

Assist Service Users in developing daily living skills such as budgeting, cooking, and self-care, while respecting their choices and autonomy.

Accompany and support Service Users to appointments, community programmes, and social events.

Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, families, and social services to ensure holistic support.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of care, respect, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Experience

A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care (or related discipline) is required.

Experience working in residential, community, or disability services is desirable.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a care team and respond calmly to challenging situations.
