Social Care Worker
Are you a compassionate, motivated professional committed to prioritising the needs of young people? We’re seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to join our team in County Longford, where you’ll play a vital role in the lives of children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritise the wellbeing, safety, and development of young people in a supportive and empowering environment.
- Implement and adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring best practices in care delivery.
- Promote a trauma-informed, person-centred approach in all interactions.
- Support young people in building life skills, education, social relationships, and community involvement.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting in line with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, healthcare providers, and families.
- Participate in care planning, reviews, and advocacy on behalf of the young person.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours using approved interventions and de-escalation techniques.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in Social Care or equivalent (minimum Level 7).
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential or community setting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Children First, HIQA standards, and other relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Full clean driver’s licence – desirable.
- CORU registration – desirable or willingness to register.
