The Team Leader supports the Person in Charge in overseeing the day-to-day operation of a designated service. The role involves leading and supporting staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting high-quality, person-centred supports for individuals using the service. This position is based in South Dublin
Key Responsibilities of Social Care Team Lead
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to frontline staff.
- Promote a positive and supportive team culture.
- Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and probation of new staff.
- Ensure staff follow policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the PIC in managing daily operations within the service.
- Monitor staff performance and service outcomes.
- Ensure accurate records, reports, and documentation are maintained.
- Support roster management and ensure safe staffing levels.
- Assist with managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centred support.
- Support the development, implementation, and review of individual support plans.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals and support medical appointments where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards (including HIQA).
- Monitor risk management processes and incident reporting.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
- Oversee medication management and safe practices.
- Monitor fire safety, equipment checks, and service vehicle compliance.
- Organise and chair meetings with staff and residents when required.
- Maintain strong communication with families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Assist with reporting, documentation, and service monitoring.
- Support the PIC in preparing reports and responding to incidents or complaints.
Requirements of Social Care Team Lead
- Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Health, or a related field.
- Experience working in health, social care, or disability services.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Knowledge of HIQA regulations and safeguarding requirements.
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Working Requirements
- Full-time role (approx. 40 hours per week).
- Flexibility required to meet service needs.
- Availability to respond to emergencies when necessary.
