Social Care Leader
Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Care Leader to join their Community Family Support Project based in Cork. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families through early intervention and family support services.
You will lead a small team delivering community-based supports to families experiencing adversity. The role involves both direct work with service users and team leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities for the Social Care Leader
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of social care staff delivering family support services
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of individual and group-based interventions to children and families
- Carry a small caseload of complex family support cases, delivering direct one-to-one and group interventions
- Liaise with schools, community services and statutory agencies to promote positive outcomes for children
- Contribute to service planning, monitoring, and evaluation
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and record-keeping in line with Tusla policies and Children First guidelines
- Participate in supervision, training, and team development activities
Essential Requirements for the Social Care Worker
- A recognised qualification in Social Care, Social Work, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a family support, child protection or related social care setting
- Experience in leading or supervising social care teams or projects
- Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, trauma-informed practice and early intervention
- Excellent communication, team-working and organisational skills
- Full clean driver’s licence and access to own transport
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a community-based or outreach family support model
- Familiarity with relevant legislation including Children First, Child Care Act 1991 and Child and Family Agency Act 2013
