Job Title: Senior Speech and Language Therapist – Adult Mental Health
Location: Mullingar
Salary: Competitive, in line with HSE pay scales
Working Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday
Contract: 6 months
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join their Adult Mental Health team in Mullingar. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults with mental health challenges by providing high-quality assessment and intervention services. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support individuals in improving their communication skills and managing any associated difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties related to mental health.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver evidence-based treatment for a range of communication disorders, including language, speech, voice, and cognitive communication.
- Support clients in managing dysphagia, where necessary.
- Liaise with other health professionals, caregivers, and support networks to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Provide supervision and guidance to junior therapists and students as required.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical records and reports in line with best practice and organizational policies.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year working in adult mental health or a related area.
- Experience in assessing and managing communication and swallowing disorders in adults.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- A passion for working with adults in mental health settings and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
