Senior Speech and Language Therapist
My client an acute Hospital in Drogheda is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join their dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a senior to join the acute service. We are looking to hear from candidates with experience of working with communication and FEDS with neurologically impaired clients, particularly stroke patients. There is on-site access to Videofluoroscopy and further training is offered . Responsibilites of Senior Speech and Language Therapist
- Provide comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy services to patients with a range of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat adult patients with complex speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.
- Work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to develop individualized care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and training to patients, their families, and staff to support communication and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date clinical records, adhering to hospital policies and relevant legislation.
- Participate in regular team meetings, supervision, and continued professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements of Senior Speech and Language Therapist
- A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (BSc/MSc).
- Registration with the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and CORU.
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in a similar setting, ideally within an acute hospital environment.
- Proven experience working with patients with complex medical conditions, including dysphagia and neurological disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
