Senior Speech and Language Therapist
A leading healthcare organisation providing comprehensive community-based services to people with intellectual disabilities are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join their CDNT team.
The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team providing family-centred, evidence-based services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex developmental needs in line with the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model.
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about supporting children with disabilities and contributing to an integrated, interdisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Speech and Language Therapist:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children presenting with a range of communication and feeding/swallowing difficulties
- Manage a complex paediatric caseload within a CDNT setting
- Deliver goal-focused interventions in partnership with families and caregivers
- Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, care planning, and case discussions
- Provide clinical supervision and support to staff grade SLTs and students as required
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with CORU and organisational standards
Essential Criteria for the Senior Speech and Language Therapist:
- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- Current CORU registration
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience
- Experience working with children and young people with disabilities
- Experience in paediatric communication and/or dysphagia management
- Strong understanding of family-centred practice and interdisciplinary team working
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within a CDNT or disability service under the PDS model
- Postgraduate training relevant to paediatric speech and language therapy
- Experience supervising junior staff or students
