Senior Speech and Language Therapist
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Donegal. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a family-centred, interdisciplinary model supporting children with complex developmental, communication, and feeding needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Speech & Language Therapist:
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with a range of developmental, communication, and feeding/swallowing needs.
- Manage a complex paediatric caseload in line with CDNT and HSE frameworks.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, and other relevant disciplines.
- Support and supervise staff-grade Speech & Language Therapists and students.
- Actively contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of best practice within the CDNT model.
- Engage with families, carers, schools, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
Requirements for the Senior Speech & Language Therapist:
- Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
- CORU registration (mandatory).
- Significant post-qualification experience working with children with disabilities.
- Strong clinical skills across a range of paediatric presentations including ASD, developmental language disorder, speech sound disorders, and feeding difficulties.
- Experience providing clinical supervision and contributing to team development.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working within a CDNT or disability service.
- Experience with transdisciplinary or family-centred models of care.
- Participation in service planning, audits, or quality improvement initiatives.
