Senior Psychologist (Part-time)

Medforce are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join a friendly, dynamic, supportive Children Disability Network Team in North Dublin on a part-time basis.
Contract: This is a permanent contract, Part-time hours (17.5hrs) Monday – Friday, plus excellent beneifts including a comprehensive pension, free onsite parking, incremental HSE pay-scale, generous annual leave entitlement, tax saver travel scheme, paid maternity & sick leave scheme and CPD opportunties.
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Psychologist to join our client’s Childrens Disability Network Team (CDNT) in North Dublin on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing psychological services to children and young people with a range of disabilities, working closely with their families and a multidisciplinary team to promote well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct psychological assessments to identify developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs in children with disabilities, and provide accurate diagnoses.
Therapeutic Intervention: Design and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual needs of children and their families, focusing on enhancing emotional regulation, social skills, and overall well-being.
Family Support: Offer counseling and psychoeducation to parents and caregivers, helping them understand and manage their childs needs and fostering positive family dynamics.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers, to create comprehensive care plans.
Supervision and Mentorship: Provide guidance and supervision to junior psychologists and other team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring high standards of psychological care.
Program Development: Contribute to the development of innovative programs and interventions that address the psychological needs of children with disabilities within the network.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress, adhering to professional and organizational guidelines.
Research and Development: Stay informed about the latest research in child psychology and disability care, and apply this knowledge to enhance service delivery.
Essential:
- A recognised university degree or diploma with first or second class honours in which Psychology was taken as major subject and honours obtained in that subject
and
- A recognised post-graduate professional qualification in Psychology validated by the Department of Health
and
- At least 5 years post-graduate experience as a professional psychologist, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist
and
- Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office, and including an interest and experience in working with children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.
- A full clean driving license and use of a car.
