Senior Psychologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join a specialist Adult & Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service.
This post provides a unique chance to contribute to an established multidisciplinary team working with people experiencing severe, enduring and/or complex mental health difficulties who require intensive inpatient support. The service offers comprehensive, evidence-based assessment and intervention in collaboration with psychiatry, mental health nursing, psychology, social work, and occupational therapy.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialised psychological assessment and intervention for adults and older adults within an inpatient setting.

Formulate and deliver evidence-based care plans that integrate multiple psychological models.

Offer consultation, supervision, and psychological expertise to multidisciplinary colleagues.

Undertake risk assessment and contribute to the safe management of service users.

Support teaching, training, and research activities within the service.

Contribute to service development, policy planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements:

Recognised degree in psychology (QQI Level 8 equivalent) with honours.

Doctorate qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland or validated by the Department of Health).

Minimum of 5 years satisfactory postgraduate experience in psychology (including at least 2 years post-qualification).

Demonstrated competence in adult mental health.

Experience of supervised clinical placements or post-qualification work in Adult Psychology.

Terms:

Contract: Permanent, part-time (0.8 WTE).

Salary: Aligned with current public sector salary scales.

Hours: 28 per week, rostered across service needs.
