Medforce Recruitment are recruiting two Senior Physiotherapists (Musculoskeletal) to join a growing MSK out patients department in a Major Acute Teaching Hospital in Dublin.
The out-patient Physiotherapy service provides treatment for a wide range of orthopaedic, Musculo-skeletal and rheumatological conditions referred from hospital consultants (Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Fracture service, Plastics, Emergency Department, Minor injuries unit, Pain, Occupational Health, MSK triage service and other specialities).
Patients with acute trauma including fractures, as well patients with long standing, recurrent conditions are commonly seen. Specialities in the musculoskeletal senior role may include; Pain, Hydrotherapy, Fracture Clinic, Emergency Department, and practice tutor role.
Role summary
- To work as part of our MSK OPD team to deliver a high quality, patient-centred physiotherapy service, working closely with clinical specialists and under direction of OPD lead.
- To provide highly specialised assessment and intervention for own varied caseload of outpatients within the speciality of MSK conditions, including patients who may have highly complex presentations; with the aim of facilitating short and long-term self-management approaches to their condition.
- To be involved in the development of the MSK Service in consultation with Clinical and Team Lead Physiotherapists, striving to ensure best practice, maximum efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness.
- The post holder will work in close co-operation with relevant Consultants in Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain, Medical, and other Consultant staff, Health & Social Care Professionals, Nursing, Heads of Departments/Ward Managers, Clerical/Administrative staff and other hospitals /services to deliver a cohesive musculoskeletal service that ensures high quality patient care in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
- To supervise, teach and appraise more junior and assistant staff and student physiotherapists as appropriate.
- To supervise, initiate and participate in evidence-based projects and lead in-service trainings.
- To supervise, initiate and participate in Quality Improvement projects including audit, service reviews and evaluations as appropriate
- To deputise for physiotherapy Clinical Specialists/OPD leads in operational management

Requirements
- Relevant post graduate education e.g. diploma/masters/doctorate (desirable).
- Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience in the field of Musculoskeletal Outpatients.
- All candidates must have experience in weekend working and/ or on-call cardiorespiratory services.
- Each candidate must demonstrate Team working skills, Management skills, Clinical skills, Leadership skills and Communication & interpersonal skills.
