Our client who specialises in acute services is currently seeking a committed and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join the team with a focus on Respiratory Care. This is a vital role within the hospital’s physiotherapy department, supporting both acute and chronic respiratory patients across wards and outpatient settings.
About the Role:
You will lead the provision of physiotherapy services in respiratory care, including assessment and treatment of patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, and post-operative respiratory issues. You will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, playing a key role in patient recovery, discharge planning, and promoting respiratory health.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Physiotherapist:
- Provide specialised respiratory physiotherapy interventions across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Support acute care (including chest physiotherapy, NIV support, secretion clearance) and long-term management
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care planning, and service development
- Provide supervision and mentoring to junior staff and students
- Lead or contribute to audits, clinical guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements for the Senior Physiotherapist:
- CORU registration as a Physiotherapist
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with demonstrable respiratory care experience
- Excellent clinical reasoning, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously in a fast-paced hospital setting
Desirable:
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV), critical care physiotherapy, or pulmonary rehabilitation
- Experience supervising junior staff or students
- Involvement in service development or audit
