Medforce Recruitment are recruiting an Enthusiastic Compassionate, Forward-thinking Senior Grade Occupational Therapist to join its CAMHS team in Drogheda or Navan.

This is an exciting time for a Highly Motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join a friendly, supportive well established CAMHS team in the Louth/Meath area..
Your clinical work will involve taking a lead on working with service users with severe/complex mental health needs, using occupationally focussed evidence-based assessment and skills to provide therapeutic interventions. You will work alongside a supportive multi-disciplinary team of therapists and you will have regular support from the Occupational Therapy Manager.
The Occupational Therapy service currently consists of a very supportive, hands-on Occupational Therapy Manager, 33 Occupational Therapists as well as Occupational Therapy Assistants working across the community.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) The Senior Occupational Therapist will work as part of a creative and recovery focused occupational therapy department with an OT Manager, Clinical Specialist, Senior OTs and Staff Grade OTs across Louth, Meath area. The CAMHS Service consists of a couple of community teams. There are opportunities across these teams for peer supervision and departmental learning. The OT will carry a complex caseload and will complete occupational therapy specific assessment & intervention looking at the impact of the young person’s moderate to severe mental health difficulty on their occupational performance.
As part of the MDT, the OT will complete some generic mental health work, such as initial intake assessments, and will hold a key working role. The OT will be responsible for supervision of a staff grade Occupational Therapist and development of the Occupational Therapy Service within their designated team. She/he will also work as a team member of the Occupational Therapy Service for Louth, Meath CAMHS Service.
Contract
This is a Specified Purpose contract for 1-year, fulltime role, Monday-Friday, 35 hour working week. An opportunity to interview for a permanent role will offered to you during your contract.
Salary range €58,599 -€68,988 per annum plus excellent HSE benefits. There will be opportunities and support for Continuing Professional Development and Career progression.
Requirements
- Be registered or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU
- Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards.
- Demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of the Occupational Therapy process, the underpinning theory and its application to the role.
- Demonstrates ability to lead by example and adapts leadership style to suit the demands of the situation and the people involved.
- Demonstrate an ability to manage and develop self and others in a busy working environment.
- Display effective communication skills (verbal & written)
- Full drivers license and use of car is essential for this role.
