Senior Occupational Therapist – CAMHS
The Senior Occupational Therapist (CAMHS) provides specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and adolescents experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Nenagh. The role supports young people aged approximately 0–18 years to improve daily functioning, emotional regulation, participation in school, family life, and community engagement.
Responsibilities of Senior Occupational Therapist – CAMHS
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments focusing on Sensory processing, emotional regulation, executive functioning, daily living skills and school participation
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans.
- Participate in CAMHS case reviews and care planning meetings.
- Provide OT expertise to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide education and support to parents/caregivers.
- Deliver training workshops where appropriate.
- Supervise staff grade occupational therapists and students.
- Contribute to service development within CAMHS Nenagh.
- Lead or support clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure best practice aligned with HSE policies and national CAMHS standards.
Requirements of Senior Occupational Therapist – CAMHS
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Minimum 3+ years post-qualification experience, with experience in:
- CAMHS or paediatric mental health
- Sensory processing or neurodevelopmental conditions
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
