Senior Occupational Therapist
We are currently recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to join an Acute setting based in Dublin. This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist child and adolescent mental health inpatient service, supporting young people with complex mental health needs.
You will play a key role within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care in a structured therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and adolescents with complex mental health presentations
- Support young people in developing skills related to daily living, emotional regulation, and participation in meaningful activities
- Deliver both individual and group-based therapeutic interventions
- Contribute to care planning and risk management within an inpatient CAMHS setting
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, and education staff
- Engage with families and carers as part of a holistic, family-centred approach
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
Requirements for the Senior Occupational Therapist
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registration
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience working in mental health services (CAMHS experience highly desirable)
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- Experience in child and adolescent mental health services
- Experience in inpatient or acute mental health settings
- Training in therapeutic approaches relevant to CAMHS (e.g. CBT-informed practice, sensory integration, group work)
