My client provides a wide range of high-quality services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism across Galway City and County. Services provided are day, residential, short breaks, community supports, rehabilitative training and multi-disciplinary supports.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team (Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Positive Behavioural Support, Psychology and Social Work) and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred Occupational Therapy services.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Occupational Therapist
- Leading assessment, planning, implementation, and review of Occupational Therapy programmes to meet the needs of each person supported.
- Collaborating closely with adults supported by the service, their families, carers, internal team members, and relevant external stakeholders—including day service providers, residential teams, community organisations, primary care partners, and allied health professionals—to ensure coordinated, holistic support.
Essential Criteria
- Recognised Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent.
- CORU registration (or eligibility within the national timeframe).
- Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in a relevant specialist or related area.
- Demonstrated experience in Sensory Integration.
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
- Underpinning understanding of HIQA regulations and standards.
- Knowledge and experience in conducting home assessments.
- Adaptive and creative approach to problem‑solving and intervention design.
- Strong planning, organisational, and caseload management skills.
