Senior Occupational Therapist
Medforce are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team in Kildare. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, family-centred services to children and young people with complex needs.
The Role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist on the CDNT, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive OT assessments and interventions to support children’s participation, independence and functional development. You will work within a family-centred model alongside Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers and other specialists.
Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
• Completing advanced OT assessments and intervention plans tailored to each child’s needs
• Supporting children with sensory processing differences, motor challenges, ADLs and equipment needs
• Providing parent and caregiver education and supporting goal-setting within the family context
• Leading on clinical decision-making and contributing to MDT case discussions
• Offering supervision and guidance to staff grade OT colleagues and students
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service evaluation and development
Requirements of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
• CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Minimum three years post-qualification experience, with relevant paediatric or disability experience
• Strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice skills
• Experience working within an MDT and in family-centred models of care
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
