Medforce Recruitment have exciting opportunities for highly motivated Senior Grade Dietitians to join Community Mental Health Teams in Wicklow and Arklow region.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and confident dietitian who can work independently as well as being part of a MDT team.
The successful candidate will join a developing, highly supportive Multidisciplinary Dietetics team. You will be involved in CPD activities within the team and receive on-going clinical supervision and managerial support.
Within the general adult community mental health teams (CMHT) the successful candidate will work to further develop nutrition services within the population. They will deliver evidence-based quality dietetic care to service users who live independently in the community and attend the CMHT.
Key working Relationships The successful candidates will work as part of the relevant multidisciplinary teams (including psychiatry, nursing, OT, psychology and social work). They will work with dietetic colleagues and the dietitian manager to further develop the dietetic service within CHEast. Staff will be based in a purpose built community base allowing for service development and the delivery of one to one and groups sessions in appropriate surroundings.
Purpose of the Post
- Will work collaboratively with staff, service users, their supporters / families to deliver a dietetic service that is quality and evidence focused from a community base.
- Will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure nutritional risk is assessed and managed on an on-going basis
- Will work collaboratively with dietetic colleagues in CHEast, Mental Health services to develop the service
Contract This is a specified purpose contract, a fulltime role, Mon-Friday, 35 hour working week. Salary range €58,599- €68,988 per annum.

Requirements
- Be registered or be eligible for registration as a Dietitian by the Dietitian’s Registration Board at CORU.
- Have min 3 years post qualification dietetic experience.
- Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
- Have a keen interest in working within mental health services and an understanding of clinical dietetics relevant to mental health wellbeing.
- Have excellent communication skills and an appreciation of the value of multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and service delivery
- Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards
- Ability to ensure high professional standards in service delivery – evidence based and best practice with a quality, client and strategic focus.
- Adequate clinical knowledge of current nutrition and dietetic practice and its application to general mental health and wellbeing.
