Role Overview:
As a Senior CT Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role in the provision of CT imaging services, ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of care. You will be responsible for performing CT scans, supervising junior radiographers, maintaining imaging equipment, and ensuring best practices in radiation safety. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced radiographer to take a leading role in a busy and dynamic department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Ensure the safe and accurate use of radiation in line with protocols and safety standards
- Supervise and mentor junior radiographers and provide technical support when needed
- Liaise with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information
- Maintain equipment and report any issues or faults promptly
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in the planning and implementation of new imaging techniques and protocols
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or equivalent
- HCPC Registration (or relevant local registration/licensing)
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a CT Radiographer
- Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and advanced imaging techniques
- Experience with a variety of CT machines and PACS systems
- Ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to professional development and ongoing education
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in CT Imaging or a related field
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of advanced CT techniques, including contrast-enhanced studies and cardiac CT
