Safeguarding and Protection Manager

A Very exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safeguarding and Protection Manager within a well-established Disability Service located in Kildare.
Medforce Recruitment are seeking a Safeguarding and Protection Manager to support and safeguard Service users with Disabilities and special needs.

Purpose of the role:
To act as a full support function to the organisation in ensuring all Service users with Support Needs are safeguarded and protected from all forms of abuse. Management and supervision of all staff within the Safeguarding Team.
Role: This is a full-time permanent position, Monday-Friday. Based in Kildare with travel to the other locations.
Working hours Flexibility in relation to working hours as relevant to the role.
Travel: Essential travelling expenses will be paid at the appropriate rate in respect of travel necessarily performed and approved by their manager in the discharge of duties
Salary:€45,773- €66,341 per annum plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhancing and further developing management reporting systems and safeguarding data collection and developing this function within Safeguarding in conjunction with the National Safeguarding Office’s client information system.
- Management of the administrative function ensuring adequate administrative support. Ensuring administrative functions are processed within deadlines and compliant with policy. This includes timely responses to referral by phone, email, post and through portal and management of records held by the department in compliance with GDPR and other relevant areas of legislation.
- Monitoring of referral trends and outcomes within safeguarding and consistency of this data with comparable services / areas of the country. Collation of same in quarterly and annual report format Oversee the department electronic file system; ensure staff have accurate data and are supported in regular electronic reviews of their systems.
- Ensure that on site audits are completed at least quarterly by the Safeguarding and Protection Team, All actions to be logged with the Person in Charge as an additional support in ensuring actions are completed.
- Ensure there is attendance at monthly Management Meetings.
- Oversee maintenance and reporting on Safeguarding Training Records.
- Support administrative and professional staff in administrative liaison and collaborative relationship between the Safeguarding, internal and external stakeholders: including Designated Officers and administration within Section 38 and 39 agencies
Education and Skills
- Must hold a Degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Have registration with CORU (the regulatory body for Health and Social Care professionals in the Republic of Ireland) as a Social Worker at the time that application is made.
- Maintain live annual registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU.
- Candidates must possess the competencies and skills appropriate to working with persons with an intellectual disability.
- Experience in quality management and document control systems.
- Excellent MS Office skills to include, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of community health services and the wider health service structures including a good knowledge of HSE reform.
- Knowledge and understanding of key HSE policies and procedures as relevant to this role.
- An understanding of budgetary expenditure and monitoring same.
- Effective verbal communication skills, delivering complex information clearly, concisely, and confidently.
- Excellent written communication skills including strong report writing and presentation skills.
