Staff Grade Psychologist
Medforce are seeking to recruit dynamic, compassionate, and dedicated Staff Grade Psychologists to join the Primary Care Child Services Team in Mayo with a base in Castlebar. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions to children and their families across the Mayo area.
Responsibilities of Staff Grade Psychologist
- Provide psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for children aged 0–18 within the primary care setting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
- Deliver time-limited interventions, both individually and in groups, in line with the goals of the Wait List Initiative.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HSE standards and professional guidelines.
- Participate in service planning, development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with families, schools, and relevant agencies as appropriate to support children’s psychological well-being.
- Contribute to the development of clinical pathways to address service delays and improve access to care.
- Engage in clinical supervision and continued professional development (CPD) activities.
Requirements of Staff Grade Psychologist
- Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology
Or An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. - Relevant experience working with children and families, ideally in a primary care or child mental health setting.
- Posts may involve travel within the Mayo area; a full driving license and access to transport is desirable.
