Physiotherapist
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade Paediatric Physiotherapist to join a Primary Care Team in Galway. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, family-centred physiotherapy services to children and young people within a community setting.
This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in paediatric primary care while working alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist:
- Provide assessment and intervention for children presenting with a range of developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal needs
- Develop and implement individualised, goal-focused treatment plans in collaboration with families and caregivers
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team assessments, case discussions, and care planning
- Support early intervention and school-age services within the Primary Care framework
- Deliver parent education and home programme support
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria for the Physiotherapist:
- BSc (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
- Current CORU registration
- Experience working with children and young people (including clinical placements)
- Strong understanding of child development and family-centred practice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in paediatric primary care or community services
- Postgraduate training relevant to paediatric physiotherapy
- Experience delivering group interventions or parent education workshops
