Physiotherapist
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and committed Physiotherapist to join the multidisciplinary team at an Acute Service in Drogheda. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a busy acute hospital environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy services across a range of clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist:
- Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment to inpatients and/or outpatients in line with hospital clinical pathways.
- Manage a varied caseload which may include medical, surgical, orthopaedic, geriatric, and rehabilitation patients.
- Support early mobilisation, functional rehabilitation, and discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team including medical, nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and social work colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital, HSE, and CORU standards.
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives within the Physiotherapy Department.
Requirements of the Physiotherapist:
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
- CORU registration (mandatory).
- Ability to manage a clinical caseload effectively within an acute hospital setting.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Experience across medical, surgical, orthopaedic, or care of the older person services.
- Experience with discharge planning and multidisciplinary teamwork.
