Physiotherapist
We are seeking a motivated and committed Staff Grade Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Department at an acute setting in Mullingar. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a busy acute hospital environment, providing high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy care across a range of clinical specialties.
Key Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist:
- Provide physiotherapy assessment and intervention to inpatients and/or outpatients in line with hospital clinical pathways.
- Manage a varied caseload across areas such as medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, care of the older person, and rehabilitation.
- Support early mobilisation, discharge planning, and safe transition from hospital to home or onward care settings.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team including medical, nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and social work colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital, HSE, and CORU standards.
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements for the Physiotherapist:
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
- CORU registration (mandatory).
- Ability to manage a clinical caseload effectively within an acute hospital setting.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Experience in areas such as orthopaedics, medical, surgical, or geriatric care.
- Experience with discharge planning and multidisciplinary teamwork.
