Staff Grade Physiotherapist
The Staff Grade Physiotherapist will to provide high-quality physiotherapy services within the Rehabilitation Unit at a Community Hospital. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients requiring rehabilitation, particularly in the areas of Care of the Elderly, Neurorehabilitation, Orthopaedics, and General Rehabilitation. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote functional independence and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities of Staff Grade Physiotherapist
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions for patients with neurological, orthopaedic, and geriatric conditions.
- Implement rehabilitation programs to enhance mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
- Monitor, evaluate, and modify treatment plans in response to patient progress.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation strategies, mobility aids, and injury prevention.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and speech and language therapists, to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in case conferences and discharge planning to support continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and reports in compliance with professional and hospital standards
Requirements of Staff Grade Physiotherapist
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).
- Minimum of one year of post-qualification clinical experience, preferably in a rehabilitation, neuro, ortho, or geriatric setting.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
