Person in Charge (PIC) – Children’s Services – Co. Mayo
Medforce are currently recruiting for a Person in Charge (PIC) to join an established children’s care service based in Co. Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional looking to take on a senior leadership role, overseeing the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and supporting a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide overall leadership and management of the service.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and person-centred care.

Lead, support and develop a team of care and social care professionals.
-
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies and standards.
-
Oversee care planning, risk management and safeguarding procedures.
-
Work closely with children, young people, families and relevant professionals.
-
Manage staff performance, supervision, training and development.
-
Maintain accurate records and ensure all required documentation is completed.

Participate in audits, inspections and service improvement initiatives.
-
Manage staffing, rostering and operational requirements.
-
Promote a positive, supportive and therapeutic environment for those in care.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Relevant qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Nursing or another related discipline.

Previous experience in a senior management or leadership position within children’s residential care, disability services or a similar setting.

Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements.
-
Experience managing and developing a multidisciplinary or care team.
-
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
-
Strong understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches.
-
Ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and external professionals.

Full driving licence and access to own transport.
-
Right to work in Ireland.

Garda vetting and satisfactory references.
