Social Care Manager (Person in Charge) – Full Time – Kilkenny
Salary: €57,327 – €67,416
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established community-based service provider supporting adults with intellectual disabilities across residential, supported living, and day services.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Care Manager / Person in Charge to take on a senior leadership role within a complex service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred supports while maintaining full compliance with HIQA and safeguarding standards.
The Role
As Person in Charge, you will have overall responsibility for the governance, leadership, and day-to-day management of services. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee quality and compliance, and ensure individuals supported experience a safe, meaningful, and high-quality life.
This is a full-time salaried role (approx. 40 hours per week) and includes participation in an on-call rota, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage residential, supported living, and day services

Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations, safeguarding, and organisational policies

Provide leadership, supervision, and support to management and frontline staff

Oversee person-centred planning, risk management, complaints, and quality assurance

Manage budgets and support the ongoing sustainability of the service

Liaise with funders, regulators, families, and external stakeholders
Requirements

Minimum QQI Level 7 in Social Care or a related discipline

Postgraduate management qualification desirable

At least 3 years’ senior management experience

At least 5 years’ experience within health, social care, or voluntary sector services

Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory compliance
