Paediatric Physiotherapist
The Paediatric Physiotherapist will provide high-quality, family-centred physiotherapy services to infants, children, and adolescents within a primary care setting. The role focuses on early identification, assessment, and intervention for children with developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions. This role is based in Limerick.
Responsibilities of Paediatric Physiotherapist
- Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric patients presenting with a range of conditions including:
- Developmental delay
- Cerebral palsy and neurological conditions
- Orthopaedic and musculoskeletal issues
- Respiratory conditions (where applicable)
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans using evidence-based practice
- Deliver therapy in clinic, home, school, or community settings as appropriate
- Monitor progress and adapt interventions to meet changing needs
- Work in partnership with parents/caregivers to support therapy goals
- Provide education, training, and home programmes
- Promote participation in daily activities and functional independence
- Work as part of a Primary Care Team (PCT), including:
- Participate in case conferences and integrated care planning
- Contribute to the development of paediatric physiotherapy services in primary care
- Support early intervention and prevention initiatives
- Participate in audits, quality improvement, and service evaluation
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in line with HSE and CORU standards
- Adhere to professional ethics, child protection policies, and best practice guidelines
Requirements of Paediatric Physiotherapist
- BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- CORU registration (or eligibility)
- Experience working with children (clinical placement or post-graduate)
