Occupational Therapist (Mental Health)
Medforce in partnership with an Adult’s Mental Health Service in the midlands of Ireland, are seeking Staff & Senior Grade Occupational Therapists.
Location: Mullingar / Longford
Contract: 6 months with a view to extend, Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week

Medforce are seeking a compassionate, innovative, and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our client’s dynamic, multidisciplinary mental health team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults facing mental health challenges, supporting them in their journey toward greater independence, resilience, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess individual needs, strengths, and challenges related to daily living, social engagement, and mental well-being.
- Develop personalized treatment plans focused on enhancing functional independence, improving life skills, and supporting recovery goals.
- Use evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support clients in developing coping strategies, managing symptoms, and building confidence.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Conduct one-on-one and group sessions, focusing on skill-building, stress management, and social integration.
- Provide education and guidance to clients’ families and caregivers to promote understanding and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and participate in regular team meetings to evaluate progress and refine treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
- Current CORU registration is essential.
- Experience in mental health settings, ideally working with adult populations.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions, interventions, and evidence-based practices in occupational therapy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
