Occupational Therapist (Acute)
To qualify for this role, you must already reside in Ireland with a valid work permit and full CORU registration.
Location: Drogheda and Dundalk County Louth
Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
Contract: 6 months with a view to extend
Medforce are delighted to announce that we are currently hiring for a Senior or Staff grade Occupational Therapist for a highly renowned acute and rehabilitation service in County Louth.
The Staff or Senior Grade Occupational Therapist will deliver high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services to designated clinical areas of the hospital. This role is split between two locations – Drogheda will cover acute services and Dundalk will cover rehabilitation services.
Reporting to the Senior Occupational Therapist/Occupational Therapist Manager, the role involves clinical and educational duties including but not limited to the below list:
Professional / Clinical
- Conduct assessments, plan, implement, and review treatment programs.
- Manage own caseload effectively.
- Collaborate with service users, families, carers, and other staff in treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in team meetings, clinics, case conferences, and ward rounds.
- Adhere to local policies and guidelines, maintaining quality standards and participating in audits.
Planning and Managing Resources
- Plan activities and coordinate resources for maximum benefit.
- Prioritize tasks effectively.
- Adapt flexibly to workforce demands.

Essential Criteria
- BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent.
- Possession of CORU Registration is essential.
- Clinical experience working in an acute setting or rehabilitation is desired
- Excellent communication, initiative and time management skills.
- Full Drivers Licence with access to own transport
