Occupational Therapist
We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Longford.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and multidisciplinary team providing high-quality services to children and young people with a range of developmental, physical, sensory, and complex needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children achieve greater independence and participation in everyday activities across home, school, and community settings.
The Role
As part of the CDNT, you will:
- Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans tailored to each child’s goals
- Support children in areas including:
- Fine and gross motor skills development
- Sensory processing and regulation
- Self-care and daily living skills
- Play, learning, and social participation
- School readiness and classroom engagement
- Recommend assistive equipment and environmental adaptations where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and community agencies
- Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and intervention planning
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in accordance with professional standards
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registration (or eligibility for registration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with children and young people
- Previous experience in disability services, paediatrics, or community care
- Knowledge of sensory processing, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and physical disabilities
- Full driver’s licence and access to a car
