Occupational Therapist
We are currently recruiting a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join the team at the Community Mental Health Centre in Limerick.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary mental health service providing occupational therapy intervention to adults within the community. The successful candidate will support service users in improving independence, daily functioning, mental wellbeing, and community participation.
The role offers valuable experience within community mental health services while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Complete occupational therapy assessments and interventions for adults presenting with mental health difficulties
- Support service users in areas such as independent living skills, routine development, emotional regulation, social participation, and vocational engagement
- Develop individualised recovery-focused intervention plans
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and individual sessions
- Work collaboratively with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members
- Support service users in achieving personal recovery and rehabilitation goals
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports in line with professional standards
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and service development initiatives
Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registration
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- Experience or placement experience within mental health services
- Experience facilitating groups or recovery-focused interventions
- Full driver’s licence and access to own transport
