Occupational Therapist
We are seeking an experienced Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Trim. This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who has developed solid clinical experience in paediatrics or disability services and is looking to further their skills within a supportive, interdisciplinary CDNT environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with disabilities and developmental needs in line with CDNT pathways.
- Manage an independent paediatric caseload with support and supervision from senior occupational therapy staff.
- Support children’s participation in daily activities including self-care, play, school participation, and sensory regulation.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Speech & Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Social Work.
- Engage effectively with families, carers, schools, and relevant agencies to support child- and family-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
- Participate in team meetings, service development initiatives, and continuous professional development activities.
Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- CORU registration (mandatory).
- Post-qualification experience working with children, ideally within disability services, CDNT, or paediatric settings.
- Strong clinical reasoning and caseload management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to an interdisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within a CDNT or similar disability service.
- Experience delivering group programmes or parent education sessions.
- Knowledge of family-centred and interdisciplinary models of care.
