Occupational Therapist
Medforce Recruitment is seeking applications from Senior or Experienced Staff Grade Paediatric Occupational Therapists to join the Community Healthcare Network teams in East Limerick and Ballina.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within supportive and well-established multidisciplinary teams providing high-quality occupational therapy services to children and families in the community. Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and consultation to children with a range of developmental, physical, and sensory needs.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to goal setting and intervention planning for each child.
- Support families and carers through education, training, and empowerment in implementing therapy goals at home and school.
- Engage in early intervention, school-aged, and transition services as part of the wider network model.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with HSE standards.
- Participate in service evaluation, clinical audit, and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Contribute to the supervision and support of students and junior staff (for senior-grade applicants).
Essential Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with paediatric clients in a community, disability, or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of sensory processing, developmental milestones, and functional skill development.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Access to own transport and a full driving licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within CDNTs or CHNs.
- Experience supervising students or therapy assistants.
- Knowledge of current HSE frameworks, including Progressing Disability Services (PDS).
